Hosta Shady Affair

Product Description

[M-L] Greg Johnson is one of Iowa's star hybridizers, introducing many great hostas in the 90's and early 00's. 'Shady Affair' is a special plant, as it was chosen by the Russ O'Harra Hosta Society to be the convention plant when the National Hosta Convention was held in Des Moines, Iowa in 2004. The first National Convention I went to...I've been hooked ever since! This 'Invincible' seedling has smooth, pointed leaves with nicely ruffled edges. In the spring, the leaves are covered by a waxy, blue-green film that soon gives way to glossy, green foliage. Hosta 'Shady Affair' is a vigorous grower that forms a somewhat upright clump about 18-20" tall and 36-40" across. Fragrant, near white flowers bloom in late summer.
