In the past, I have bought the following hostas from Bridgewood Gardens:

My order for 1998 has already been acknowledged and billed.

Many, perhaps all of the plants I have received from Bridgewood Gardens appear to have been grown from tissue culture. They all have had recognizably adult leaves when I received them. The larger hostas have been single divisions, but the smaller hostas have been multiple divisions. Plants are shipped in pots and all have been in excellent shape when received. Every plant I have purchased from Bridgewater Gardens has prospered upon being transplanted into the ground in my garden and has emerged larger and healthy the next season.

The 1998 Hosta Catalog has 33 pages which include information on hosta culture, listings of top hostas, and groupings of available plants by price and color. The end is a compete alphabetical listing. I counted 342 species and cultivars listed for 1998. These include the following Bridgewood Gardens introductions: H. 'Admiral Halsey', H. 'Angel Eyes', H. 'Satisfaction' (sold out for 1998), H. 'Sergeant Pepper', H. 'Surfer Girl', and H. 'Uncle Albert'. I also noted the following listings of hosta cultivars that were not available from any source covered by the 1997 Hosta Finder: H. 'Aristocrat', H. 'Aspen Breeze', H. 'Frilly Puckers', and H. 'Lady Isobel Barnett - White Edge'. There are no illustrations in the catalog, but the individual species and cultivars are quite well described.

Plants are generally priced very competitively. The most expensive plant I found in the catalog was the streaked H. 'Christmas Tree Gala' at $125. There are many desirable cultivars available for $4.95. There is an extensive listing of plants available in large quantities at wholesale prices on an insert to the catalog. Finally, there is a special offer of sets of 6 streaked seedlings for $29.95 each. (I ordered a set!) The processing of orders and shipping is very organized and timely. Credit cards are accepted and orders are billed when placed. Plants are shipped by UPS to arrive on or about the date requested.

Perennials, hydrangeas and unusual woody plants are sold by another part of the business:
