Hosta montana 'Aureo-marginata'

Product Description

[L] An old classic, but still one of the most spectacular foliage plants you will find. Broad, pointed leaves are green with wide, streaky, yellow margins that fade to white by late summer with good light. The sturdy leaves have gently undulating edges that give the plant a pleasing sense of motion. Hosta montana 'Aureo-marginata' has strong petioles that form a breathtaking, upright mound about 28" tall and 48" or more across. Pale lavender flowers in mid summer. The only negative aspect of this hosta is that it often emerges early in the spring and can be damaged by frost. A generous layer of mulch will help keep it dormant longer.
