[M-L] This one will stop everyone in their tracks and it did when hostaholics got the first glimpse of this plant at the 2000 American Hosta Society Convention in Minnesota!! The first wide margined sport of ‘Sagae’ to hit the market and arguably the best. Hosta 'Liberty' has the same, broad, undulating, gray-green leaves of its parent, but with a very wide edge that starts out rich, butter-yellow and fades to creamy-white. Likely a tetraploid. Can be slow to get started and takes two to three years to develop the wide margin. 'Liberty' forms a vase-shaped mound about 28" tall and 40" across that is topped with pale lavender flowers in mid summer. A mature specimen is positively drool worthy! PP12531
