Product Description

[M-L] A hosta named after a world class athlete must be tough, resilient, tenacious, captivating...and that is exactly what Hosta 'Andy Murray' is! Hybridized by Bob Solberg and named by the British Hosta and Hemerocallis Society in honor of Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, this notable plant was debuted at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2014. It remains scarce stateside. Out of Bob's Longiana line of hybrids, the pointed, blue leaves are moderately wavy and edged by a wide, streaky margin of creamy-white. At times, the leaf edges are highlighted with irregular gold flashes. A beautiful plant, but durable, as well. The foliage has excellent substance, keeping the plant in prime condition all season – not unlike a champion athlete. Hosta 'Andy Murray' will grow into an 18" tall by 40" wide mound that blooms in late summer with fertile, pale lavender flowers.
