Rodgersia is an unfortunately under used perennial for the shade garden. Large, dissected leaves are heavily textured and make a welcome contrast to hosta leaves. Rodgersia 'Bronze Peacock' emerges in the spring rich bronze...darker than any other rodgersia. The glossy foliage turns deep green with bronze tones by early summer. In mid summer, tall plumes of astilbe-like, pink flowers rise above the 22" tall by 30" wide clump. Rodgersia is a fairly slow grower that prefers moist, organic soil, but will tolerate some dryness once established.
