Hosta Flemish Design - NEW!

Product Description

[M] The yellow leaf, red petiole color combination has been popular with hybridizers. We now have many very nice examples of this color scheme available, but most of these plants are seriously lacking in leaf substance. Danny has a solution to that problem, with this tetraploid form of 'Designer Genes'. The rubbery leaves are more rounded than its parent, lightly dimpled, and held on red petioles. The foliage emerges screaming yellow in the spring, and simmers down to chartreuse by mid summer. Hosta 'Flemish Design' will form a 1 foot tall by 2 foot wide clump that blooms in late summer with deep red scapes of dark purple flowers. An interesting plant for hybridizers to incorporate into their red/yellow line of hybrids.
